Furry Butts Fursday
November 6, 2009And its not even Thursday anymore.
Mom, why do you take pictures when you’re cleaning?
New Hay?
My toy is broken. Again. Mom said I should be careful with my toys because we can’t always buy them. “Got to save money” she said. She also said that she already spent quite some money for my litter and food, so buying another toy is not good. Sorry Mom.
Mom said she’ll go out tomorrow to meet an online buddy who also owns rabbits. Hi Ms. Char! I wonder how your bunnies look like. Anyway, she said they’ll buy us some hay, and I’m excited! I want to taste this alfalfa hay they’re talking about.
In speaking of alfalfa, did you know that alfalfa hay is high in calcium and protein, but low on fiber compared to grass hay? That’s why its usually recommended for bunnies younger than 7 months. Good thing they’ll get hay mixed with tmothy, so we guess it won’t be that bad. Mom said we have to change some things in my diet though, maybe cut down a little on my pellet. Hmm…
Woody Pet Review
Here’s our short review on Woody Pet:
So far, the product’s great! Mom said it really reduced the smell of my litter box. Also, we don’t have to clean the litter box every day because a few handfuls of Woody Pet lasts me up to 3 days! Its pretty amazing. The only thing Mom does every night (when she’s not replacing the litter) with my litter box is picking up my poop. She collects them and throws them into the compost bag. I don’t know why she does that, they’re all in the box anyway.
Mom adds a little watter to the wood pellets before she puts my litter box back. She said the pellets are too hard and are sharp when used on its own, so I guess its better to put a little water on the litter box along with Woody Pet.
I also like digging inside the box. I get some litter inside my cage, but Mom says its ok as long as I don’t topple the whole litter box.
Regarding health issues, Mom read mixed reactions about this one. Some people are against this product since they believe that it may cause respiratory problems (since its wood turn into really really small pieces). Others recommend this because its safe even if rabbits eat it 9eww, why would I eat my litter?) - the wood pellets won’t clog our intestines. What do you think?
Over all, we recommend this product to use. Mom says its a little expensive, but I think whe’ll be able to save more in the long run. It also works well: it absorbs all my pee and hides the smell. It’ll take us a long time to finish this huge bag of litter, but I guess Mom will buy one again when we finish this one up.
Litter Experiment
November 2, 2009I told you that we just got my litter last week. Also, Mom got me a new litter box last week since I tend to topple my old one whenever I run around my cage. Since its Halloween, and Mom was home all day, we decided to do a little experiment with my new litter.
First, we dished out my new litter:
PS, thanks to the wonderful people behind ACGS who helped us get this sack. It was really nice of them to make arrangements to have this one delivered to our house. You may contact them at (+63) 2 856-6453 to 55 or email them at acgs@pldtdsl.net.

Litter
October 29, 2009
Ohoho, my litter is here! Mommy got me a sack of Woody Pet litter, and a nice guy delivered it to our house today! I can’t wait to try it out.
We’ve been using ordinary wood shavings for a while - sellers call it palotsina. Though a lot of rabbit owners here in the Philippines use this kind of bedding/litter, we think its something that isn’t exactly suitable for us buns since its a little dusty and we’re not sure about what kind of wood they used for that. So Mom decided to invest in something that is considered ‘bunny safe’.
The online community doesn’t exactly promote this product though. Most online rabbit care sites promote products such as Yesterday’s News. Mom found a seller online, but it’s a little expensive since we still have to have it shipped here in the Philippines. So we resorted to something that’s near us.
Mom’s the best!
Pics tomorrow. :<
Gray Ears
October 22, 2009My ears are turning gray!
At first, she thought that I was just a little dirty bun who likes to roll around dirty places. But later on, she noticed that its spreading all over my ears. Upon closer inspection, she noticed that some of my ear fur are black/gray.

Helicopter Ears
October 14, 2009Mommy likes to pretend that I’m a lop sometimes. So she sometimes *gently* rubs my head to make me look like a lop. And I end up looking like this.
I overplayed with my key rattle last week and, uh, broke it in half. now the keys are all over and it’s hard to pick them up! Mom gave me a new toy but I want a new KEY rattle, not that weird saucer rattle, ok?
I’m Back!
October 12, 2009Hi! Sorry for the long wait. Mommy’s been very busy with work while I, er, I’m busy playing and rearranging my stuff. Yeah.
Before updating you bunns with anything, I’d like to show you a picture Mom found when I was still a wee little baby:
Me in my old cage. Mom says I was really cute and fluffy and round. I’m still cute now, only bigger. I love that blue basket. When I was little, I sleep in it all the time. I use it as my hay tray right now. I want to sleep in it again but I can’t fit my butt in.
This is me now:

I peed on Mom
September 3, 2009Mom has been lazy for the past few days. She hasn’t even uploaded new photos! Hmp. Oh well.
Mom wasn’t very pleased with me last night. instead of having my usual 2 hour playtime, I was put back to my cage an hour earlier. Why?
I peed on Mom.
Well, we were on the floor. She flopped with me, she was giving me a massage while I groom her (yes, I groom my Mom because she seems to be dirty all the time). Then I smelled something. Something weird. Somebody’s marking my Mom! She doesn’t smell like me! This is unacceptable!
So I hopped around, then hopped to her back (where she can’t see me, ohohoho) and I peed on her. She was really surprised that I did that. When she noticed that some of her other clothes got wet, she picked me up (weee!) and placed me back to my cage. Then she quickly changed her clothes and went to the washing machine. She didn’t let me out last night again.
Later on, I learned that it was HER dog who marked Mom. Apparently, she touches her dog before going inside the house (the dog has her own house outside, that’s why I don’t see her). I told Mom that I was just making her ‘mine’, but I still got scolded. She told me not to do it again. She also said that I could chin her, but never pee on her.
Uhm, well. Sorry mom.
Dinnertime!
August 26, 2009This is what I usually get for dinner:
Celery with carrots. We don’t have parsley that night, but it’s ok. Right now, Mom’s trying to give me some new vegetable. She calls it green pepper. I don’t like it, but I eat a little to please Mom. Of course I have hay too. I want that romaine thingy butMom say’s its too expensive here in the Philippines. So she said she’ll just try to grow carrots for carrot tops and, of course, carrots.
